Showcasing an important part of developing confidence in children

Giving children lots of fun opportunities to perform in front of their peers and parents and friends in a relaxed environment, really does help confidence.

The Helen O’Grady Drama Academy’s programme is designed to give ample opportunity to perform in front an audience, in a fun way, and by doing so, children very quickly relish the opportunity to be in the spotlight or on stage.

Houda Farrahe, our Casablanca Principal, during parents day
Public speaking or performance becomes a big fear for many people but there is actually no need to have this if we are allowed in a secure environment from a young age to make mistakes in front of other people without retribution.

We are all different as human beings so within the drama classes at the Helen O’Grady Drama Academy, children’s uniqueness is applauded within a nurturing environment, and through the international curriculum, children are encouraged to speak out and have fun communicating with others. Slowly through the years, the skills become inherent and all fears or anxiety fade away. So much so that if you were to watch one of our productions, you will see so much improvisation, that sometimes the actually script becomes secondary to the actual performance.

Children who are given a voice are able to speak out and speak up for themselves.
