Drama Teachers or Performance Arts Graduates sought in South Africa for our Academy in Beijing, China

The Helen O’Grady Drama Academy is seeking Performance Arts Graduates or Drama Teachers for our Beijing Academy. 

Qualifications

A minimum of a Bachelors Degree and at least 2 years work experience preferably with children is required. If the candidate has a TESOL or TEFL requirement then 2 years teaching experience may not be needed.

Must be a fluent English speaker. 

Training

Prospective teachers trained in the Academy in Cape Town have the opportunity to work in many countries worldwide. This is an ideal opportunity for people looking for a challenge or wanting to travel abroad. 

Prospective candidates will be trained in the Cape Town Academy in the Helen O’Grady method for free. This opportunity is for energetic and enthusiastic teachers and allows contact with children, some school holidays free and an attractive income. 

About the Academy

The Helen O’Grady Academy is one of the largest drama schools in the world. In Cape Town over 3000 students attend classes each week.

The programme is a self-development programme for children designed to build children's confidence and self-esteem, public speaking and communication skills through a carefully constructed English drama programme. 

For nearly 40 years the Academy has been developing and refining an exciting curriculum encompassing an extensive range of drama activities, designed to capture the imagination of children of all ages and to develop confident, articulate children, who desire to make a positive contribution to the community. 

Classes cover speech, movement, creative drama, language development and short plays. They are also great fun! It is now possible for children to gain tremendous confidence, excellent communication and language skills, whilst at the same time having an enormous amount of fun!

In some countries the programme performs a dual purpose of being an English as a foreign language as well as a performance arts programme.
