A production is a huge collaboration - these fine students from Spine Road High School show this in their Shakespeare production of 'Macbeth'
Students from Spine Road High School performed in Shakespeare's Macbeth at their school hall and it was wonderful to see the enthusiasm of the children for acting on stage. Under the direction of their teacher, Michelle Nothnagel, these children really put on a magnificent production.
One aspect of life that being in a play develops is commitment. In order for us to do well in life, we need to be committed and realise that it is not always ourself who is centre stage but all those supporting us in a role. A production is a huge collaboration on many levels and a fantastic teaching tool for children to learn how to respect and respond to others.
The Academy believes that by acting Shakespeare, children will be far more appreciative of his famous works and when they write exams or study Shakespeare, they will have a deep knowledge having acted a part in it.
Spine Road is a fantastic school in Mitchell's Plain which believes in developing the all-round child. Including drama in the curriculum will not only help with creativity but also with their communication skills which are incredibly important for successful life ahead.
