Our Youth Theatre from Plumstead's acting troupe perform an amazing comic character-driven production at the Magnet Theatre
Under the direction of their amazing teacher, Dana Pesskin, the students from our Youth Theatre in Plumstead performed THE most amazing play. Dana has great still at working with our teenagers in Cape Town and developing their acting skills and this was evident in this fantastic play called 'Freaky Creatures' based on the Horror genre.
Amidst swirls of smoke, down in a dark basement, the Freaky Creatures of the world hold their annual AGM. Hilarious argument come forth until they find they have a traitor in their midst! The students performed some excellent dances and at the end their was an hysterically funny lip syncing song and dance. Each freaky creature was beautifully acted with detail such as mannerisms, different walks and amazing accents. It was such a confident and professional production.
The Helen O'Grady Drama Academy runs its famous international programme to develop young actors at the Plumstead Methodist Church Hall. Many of the students in all the age-groups have acted in film, television and on the stage. Our Plumstead Youth is vibrant and great fun.
