Doing drama with children with special needs at St Joseph's Marist College is probably the most rewarding experiences for us.
Debbie Robertson, our fantastic teacher, has been working with these special young people from St Joseph's Marist College Special Needs Unit for six months and the results have been absolutely phenomenal. Recently the children started preparing a play 'How the Lion got its Roar'. On Friday afternoon they put this production on for parents and friends and it was the most amazing performance. We are so proud of their achievements - they made this beautiful play so vibrant and entertaining.
These children from St Joseph's absolutely love their classes and they follow an international programme of drama classes used by our Academy worldwide. Special needs children love the creativity of our programme including the singing, dancing and acting. But the programme also focuses strongly on developing good communication skills.
The show started with a musical number prepared by their signing teacher, Sue - their voices were beautiful and they sung with such enthusiasm.
