Clubs fuel interest for children outside of academic school work. It is important for schools to encourage such activities for children and offer a wide variety of things for them to do. A good school such as St Joseph's Marist College in Cape Town, believes that children should be stimulated inside and outside of the classroom and this overall enhances the child's experience of school and their enthusiasm for life in general.
At St Joseph's, like many schools across Cape Town that follow the Helen O'Grady International drama programme, we have found that children are more likely to enjoy their experience of school and show this interest later in life.
Unfortunately many schools in Cape Town do not have active after school programmes and this is where children are sometimes idle after school within their communities.
The programme at St Joseph's runs from age 3 - 18 years with different age-groups coming on different days and times. We are very pleased to have our wonderful teacher, Debbie Robertson, running our programme and students will soon be working on their end of year productions at the school.
