What are the benefits of performing in a school play? The Helen O'Grady Drama Academy's programme has the answer ...

As part of a confidence-building programme for children, a good drama programme should have opportunities for children to take to the stage so that they can enjoy performing in front of an audience.

The Helen O'Grady Drama Academies international programme does just that - the plays are so written that every child has a main part to play and all the children are on the stage all the time.

Last year, at Square Hill Primary School in Retreat, Cape Town, the Grade R children aged 5-6 years performed to 1000 people at the Baxter Concert Hall with such joy and oozed their natural ability on the stage. The result was so profound that the Department of Education wrote a special commendation about the event and how children's lives are changed through drama.

Here you can see our wonderful teacher, Terri Roodt, rehearsing their plays for the end of the year. The children always sing, dance and act their hearts out on the stage because they absolutely love performing thanks to the amazing drama classes and our special teachers.
