Are you the type of person who rushes around with high energy or are you slow and methodical. This wonderful tale explained the strengths and weaknesses of both character traits and was told by the children of Bergvliet Primary in the annual productions at Bergvliet Primary, beautifully directed by our vice-principal, Sunette Strydom.
Of course we know the outcome of the Hare and the Tortoise: the slow and methodical animal won the race. However, it is important to have balance in life. The Helen O'Grady Drama Academy's classes teach children to have energy and enthusiasm for life but at the same time also teach critical thinking skills and socialisation.
Children learn that each person is special and that listening is equally as important as talking. Improvisation teaches children to be spontaneous but also to become more analytical in their approach to the work.
Well done to the children of Bergvliet Primary for such a fantastic development in skills. This fine school has realised the importance of an expert led curriculum to bring out the best in all their children.
