The Winter Holiday programme for children aged 5-18 in Cape Town is ready to warm the hearts and minds of children. This educational arts programme running for nearly 10 years in Cape Town focuses on Musical Theatre. Kids are trained in dance, singing and acting for the stage. At the end of the week there is a short performance for parents and friends of the work covered.
Dates: Monday 14th - 18th July, 2014 (The last week of the school holidays)
Times: 9 am - 12 pm
Venue: Athenaeum, 1 Mariendahl Road Newlands (Next to the Sahara Park Cricket Stadium)
Fee: R950 with discounts for more that one child in a family.
Expert teachers develop the children in a fun-filled environment. The holiday classes are run in three specific age-groups:
5-8 years
9-12 years
13-18 years
Each participant will experience an hour's tuition per day of the three genre: dance, drama and singing. This is mini stage school and gives children the real feeling of what full time school would be like. Experiencing musical theatre in this way really boosts children's confidence and at the same time as learning these skills they participate in something profoundly educational.
The Helen O'Grady Drama Academy's holiday camps have been running in Cape Town for many years now and the children just love them.
Students perform in a short variety show on Friday evening for parents and friends.
