A drama school with a big open heart in Tokai, Cape Town - a truly community based programme

Children from Constantia, Bergvliet, Meadowridge, Retreatand Steenberg attend the Helen O'Grady Drama Academy's classes on Tuesday afternoons at the Tokai Library Hall.

3-4 pm for ages 5-8 years
4-5 pm for ages 9-12 years
and at Plumstead studio for youth theatre for ages 13-18.

With their inspired teacher. Liandé, these amazing kids demonstrated how drama can really makes a difference in the ability to communicate with creativity and spontaneity. From the expression on their faces during their improvisations and mimes to music, to their clear articulate speaking voices, the children showed that they have fully embraced the hugely educational aspects of the international curriculum.

It is actually quite evident that doing after school drama classes does increase children's interest in academic work and makes the readily answer questions in class and take on leadership roles. To be warm and open is a great communication skills taught by the Academy.

Based in communities throughout Cape Town, the Helen O'Grady believes in making classes affordable and accessible to all.  Therefore classes are always easy to get to and all days of the week from Monday to Saturday.
