Shakespeare is brought to life by a spectacular performance of our Plumstead Helen O'Grady Drama Academy
The aim of the Helen O'Grady Drama Academy in Africa is to bring quality work to the students so that they get experience of all theatrical and performance genre. This year, the Academy, used Shakespeare's 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' as a teaching tool to enhance this experience. Not only did this opportunity give our youth theatre students a love of Shakespeare, the language and the method acting involved but also this particular adaptation was written in order to train young actors in stage layout and stage directions. One of the main teaching tools involved the students making clearly defined entrances and exits.
Directed by our ever-glowing teacher, Dana, this production was filled with vibrancy and vigour. The students together with Dana developed the play are brought out the humour with clever acting. The highlight of the show was the one-armed Theseus at the end! This brought the house down!
Well done to all these fantastic students who absolutely love acting and developing their craft. We are so proud of you all!
