Five magnificent plays directed by Heleen van Eck at Star International Primary School's Concert at the Joseph Stone Theatre in Cape Town
We were very proud of the Junior phase at Star International Primary School. The Helen O'Grady Drama Academy has been running its international programme at the school for many years now. The results are self-evident with their confident articulate performances.
The Helen O'Grady Drama Academy in Cape Town is one of the largest drama schools in the world with over 3000 children attending classes each week. The Cape Town Academy is also the Head Office for the whole of Africa, running training for new principals and teachers throughout the African continent. The Academy runs its school drama programme in over 20 schools in Cape Town alone.
This programme has been developed over 35 years of international experience. Children develop in confidence, self-esteem, communication and performance skills. The children very quickly develop the necessary skills to become confident at public speaking and presentation skills. This gift of facilitating confident communicators in children will be of immense benefit throughout life! This is an essential life-skill.
We would like to thank our wonderful teacher, Heleen, and Sunette, our vice-principal, for all their hard work and professionalism with these children.
