Here you can see our wonderful version of Midsummer Night's Dream in action with our Youth Theatre aged children at the French School in Cape Town.
The Cape Town Helen O'Grady Drama Academy leads the way in developing acting skills in young people and with our high school students we endeavour to teach, through the production an aspect of the theatre acting, so this experience is not just performing a play. Some of the theatrical genres we have tackled in writing our plays have been: physical theatre, mask theatre, pantomime technique and with this play we were looking at how stage directions work effectively to create a well-rounded piece. With this comes clearly defined entrances and exits.
The students at the French School are excellent performers having been following the programme now for over 4 years.
