The upper primary class performed in the
classic story of ‘The Pied Piper of Hamelin’. These children demonstrated
the skills they have developed over the year in performance arts and their
natural confidence on stage. With comical lines from the Mayor and very serious
character acting from Pied Piper, the story unfolded in fast-paced and exciting
manner. Clearly articulate voices and
warm, vibrant acting lead to the final moral which was that one should never
break a promise otherwise you, too, could end up in the situation of the people
of Hamelin, having their children taken from them because they refused to pay
the Piper’s fee. Owing to the excellent performances, the play ended to rapturous
applause.
