Class Act Contestants ready to Shine - From Cape Flats News

Read this wonderful article about our own Samantha Tunnah! Well done, Samantha, we are proud of you!

A group of Capetonians – six men and four women – recently made their debut on television when they took part in the auditions in Johannesburg for the second season of Class Act on SABC 1.
Lemogang Tsipa (20) from Athlone and Samantha Tunnah (24) from Pinelands shared their experience with Cape Flats News:
Tsipa who idolises Will Smith, says his dream is to become a world renowned actor and he utilised this opportunity to meet other young actors.
His father is the inspiration behind this career. “He (Tsipa’s father) is a public speaker in the form of a pastor and lecturer.”
Tunnah was seven years old when she played her first role as a British settler in a school play. “I wasn’t very happy with my role as I wanted to play the Hawaiian girl as I thought it was more exotic and I liked the hoola skirt,” she told.  “Looking back, I didn’t understand that you get cast according to ‘the look’ you have and not just your acting skills.”
This teacher of Helen O’ Grady Drama Academy and contestant Mpumelelo Manganya from Mowbray qualified in Johannesburg for National Call Backs. They will compete with eight others hopefuls of other provinces to advance the next level of their acting careers.
The episode for Johannesburg contestants will be aired tomorrow at 19:00, said Storm O’Neill, spokeswoman of Class Act. Episode 5 will air of ‘From Thousands to 10 – National Call back Auditions’ on Saturday May 21, 2011 at 18:30.
