Helen O'Grady Holiday Stage School 13th -18th December 2010

The Helen O'Grady Drama Academy runs its famous holiday stage school again this year. Last year the holiday programme was fully booked with a large waiting list and this year it looks as if it will be just the same. The aim of this holiday camp in Cape Town is to allow children the opportunity to explore musical theatre. This year children and youth from ages 5-18 will explore a shortened version of the musical 'The Mikado' by Gilbert and Sullivan. The children will do a performance to a public audience on the Saturday. Using expert teachers including a music and singing teacher, a dance teacher and choreographer and an acting coach, the students go on an educational journey in this wonderful drama holiday activity.

If you come into the corridors of this drama school you will see the children involved in a wonderfully creative experience, where each child is motivated and learning. Research has shown that children who are encouraged to participate in the arts are more likely to achieve academically and to become a success in life.
