Edgemead has the world's largest drama school now! Classes in Edgemead commenced last term, with the Academy's wonderful teacher Megan Sell. Megan, teaches at our Goodwood and Newlands Studios and she is a great asset to have in this area. Many of the Edgemead parents had asked the Helen O'Grady Drama Academy to set up classes and now it has come to fruition. The classes are held at the Edgemead Scout/Guide Hall which is directly opposite the Edge Church which used to be the Assemblies of God Church and next to Edgemead Pre Primary School. Classes are for different age groups from 5 - 18 years. To enrol, please contact our office. Many of the students at the Edgemead Drama School have signed up to Aardvark Casting, the Academy's casting agency. The Casting Agency does very well in securing jobs on film, television, radio and the theatre. We have two of our boys currently starring as the only South African actors in 'Waiting for Godot' at the Fugard Theatre in Cape Town. The are acting alongside Sir Ian McKellen, Roger Rees and Matthew Kelly, all well known international actors. Sir Ian McKellen of course was Gandalf in the Lord of the Rings films.
