Students from the Helen O'Grady Drama Academy in Stellenbosch recently performed Macbeth at the Oude Libertas theatre to a very appreciative audience. The students brought the gread bard's work to life in unique production. The Helen O'Grady Drama Academy does not teach drama for drama's sake, but runs an internationally recognised educational course, not only to develop confidence, creativity and communication skills but also to enhance Performance, Public Speaking and Presentation skills. The youth theatre students always develop new skills of acting as well as studying a text of substance to help them with their work at school, as well as becoming vibrant people who will become leaders in the world owing to their excellent communication skills. As a result the Academy is pleased that its students are well rounded, articulate confident people. Many of the Academy Stellenbosch students have been on television and acted in film. The Academy runs one of the country's largest children's casting agency, Aardvark Casting, which has 2500 child actors at its disposal. Recently the Academy has four children acting in Antony and Cleopatra at Maynardville Open Air Theatre under the direction of Stellenbosch University's Marthinus Basson - an Artscape production. Marthinus is one of the countries leading directors and the Academy is pleased to be working in collaboration with him on this fantastic project.
