Start of Lanner House and Worcester Drama Classes

Schools are back and the Helen O'Grady Drama Academy is really busy with programmes in Schools throughout the Western Cape. Cape Town's largest drama school with over 2500 students runs the entire drama programme at Lanner House School in Worcester.

Like many other forward thinking schools, Lanner House puts great emphasis on the all round (holistic) development of children. Children should be stimulated at school and this does not only come from sitting behind desks. We must, in our schools, create other opportunities for children to explore their skills and talents. Drama is an ideal vehicle for this. Drama very quickly develops creative minds - creative thinkers are those people who will be the leaders industry. Drama develops excellent communication skills - those who can get their message across will have a head start in the world around.

The Helen O'Grady Drama Academy is used by government and private schools worldwide as a comprehensive drama programme, as part of arts and culture, or a performance arts programme. Children and Adults who can effective make a presentation, speak in public and have confidence will have life-long success.

One of the biggest fears people have is public speaking but the Helen O'Grady Drama Academy's course teaches makes communicating with others a natural skill.

The Academy also runs at the United Church Hall on Tuesday afternoons in Church Street (Kerk Straat) in Worcester. Those children who attend other schools are very welcome to join these classes.
