School Drama Programme - South Africa

The Academy’s programme is used in many school throughout Cape Town including schools such as Herschel, Bergvliet Primary and Mvula Primary in Nyanga. The scope of the programme shows it can be used effectively as an English as a foreign language programme as well as an advanced performance arts course.

More and more schools are realising the value of the programme to develop sound communication skills and creativity in young people. Unfortunately many schools lack the resources and the skills to teach drama, but the Helen O’Grady Drama Academy takes all these concerns away by offering a complete affordable package for schools which includes parents days and end-of-year productions. Many schools throughout the world use the Academy’s programme as good publicity because having this international course really enhances what is on offer at the school and takes their school to the next level of creativity. Classes can be tailored to the specific needs of a school, from half hour to full hour lessons. The Academy has a full production programme but schools can also ask the school’s expert teachers to assist with the school musical.

Is your school looking for a drama teacher? Then look no further because the Helen O’Grady Drama Academy can provide expert, fully trained teachers who use the international curriculum to enhance your schools creative arts programme.

The Academy recently opened at Star International School and this photo shows the Academy’s teachers in Action, outside in the school quad.
