The Cape Town Saturday afternoon Drama School in Newlands at the Athenaeum recommenced its highly popular classes on Saturday under the direction of Beth Daniel, the Academy's vice-principal.
Classes in Newlands get booked up very quickly, and students started the year in fine form. The times of the classes are as follows:
Lower Primary - Ages 5-8 from 2-3 pm
Upper Primary - Ages 9-12 from 3-4 pm
Youth Theatre - Ages 13-18 from 4-5 pm
Students do not have to have an experience of drama and any new student will fit in immediately as the Academy is very keen to nurture all its students in communication and performance skills.
There are lots of opportunities through the year for the parents to watch the children perform and thereby make their own assessment of their progress in these very important drama skills but teachers are always on hand to give advice to parents and talk about their child's progress.
