Antony and Cleopatra at Maynardville directed by Marthinus Basson featuring four Helen O'Grady Drama Academy children

Having been to many, many Shakespeare performances by the Royal Shakespeare Company, and been a regular member of the Cambridge open air Shakespeare Festival, and seen Anthony Sher our famous South African Shakespearian actor in action, Marthinus Basson's 'Antony and Cleopatra' was one of the most exciting and exhilarating versions that I have ever seen. The enormity of putting on this long play and keeping the audience so enthralled thoughout is a tough task but Marthinus brought such a wonderfully fresh approach to this classic.

The Helen O'Grady Drama Academy would like to thank Marthinus Basson and Tara Notcutt for giving our children such a wonderful opportunity to be part of such a unique production. Your belief in our young actors and the care you have shown them has been superb and highly professional. There were some very poignant scenes using these young people and clearly they were very well directed.

If you have not seen Antony and Cleopatra, you have four weeks left, and I strongly suggest you get tickets otherwise you will miss out on this gem!
