Mvula Private Primary School, Nyanga Productions and Arts Festival

The Helen O'Grady Drama Academy runs classes for children in the Nyanga informal settlement. The classes develop the children's confidence and self-esteem, but most importantly we concentrate on English Language skills. The children are being taught how to communicate well using the English language and their performances really showed their huge increase in language ability. These children come from very disadvantaged backgrounds and the school is always looking for sponsors to allow these children opportunities that they may never have had before. Our teachers, Tia van Greunen Braday, and Anastacia Isaacs have put a lot of valuable time in with these children to take them further in their development at the school. The school had the foresight to provide these children with other opportunities outside the classroom to give them hope for the furture and what is more, there is a lot of talent at the school ready to be tapped.

The school is looking for people to sponsor the school to provide more activities such as this. If you would like to become involved with Mvula Primary, please contact the Helen O'Grady Office and we will put you in touch with the people responsible: http://www.dramaafrica.com/
