Drama Productions at Mvula School in Nyanga

The Helen O'Grady runs a project with Mvula Primary School in Nyanga to develop good English speaking and performance arts skills. The Academy has two teachers operating at the school. Here you can see Tia van Greunen-Brady in action with the learners as they prepare for their productions in a few weeks' time. This school is situated in a very disadvantaged area and is reliant on donations from people at home and abroad to keep it sustained. The board is keen to see that the students are involved in other activities, apart from academics so it can broaden their horizons for the future. Therefore they have introduced drama as part of the curriculum which has had a huge consequence for the development of essential English communication skills as most of these children speak Xhosa as their first language. If you would like to offer funding for this project at Mvula Private Primary School, please get in touch with us and we will put you in touch with the School.
