African Village and Telephone conversations in Rondebosch

Our teacher, Beth, and students in the Rondebosch studio had a fantastic drama lesson today. Our Lower Primary class acted out a play set in an African Village, which incorporated dance and singing as well as some very powerful, well-projected lines from the children. As an international drama school, the students gain much exposure from stories and tales from around the world. The Helen O'Grady Drama Academy believes that by understanding each other, and different cultures, the children are able to respect all people in this world.

Conflict resolution plays a huge part in relationships and children within the Helen O'Grady drama lessons, gain much from learning through role-play, how to deal with, and resolve situations of conflict that they may find in their lives from time to time.

The Rondebosch Upper Primary performed Impromptu Telephone conversations to the delight of Beth, Duncan, the Cape Town Principal and Jon, our visiting Principal from Gaborone, Botswana. They were particularly impressed with the imagination and clear diction of the students performing.

The Rondebosch studio is at the St Stephen's Church Hall, which is next to Bishop's School and across the road from Rondebosch Boys.
