The Helen O'Grady Drama Academy's Musical Holiday Stage School which is runs in Newlands, Cape Town, is always a huge success with these classes always fully booked.
Children from 5-18, in their different age-groups, are taught dance, singing and acting but the Academy's specialist teachers. This year's July stage school worked on the theme of Broadway Musicals, giving the students a taste of this amazing melting pot of creativity.
From the little ones who were 'Singing in the Rain' to the oldest who performed a scene from West Story, the audience was led on a magical journey through Broadway.
Our thanks go to our amazing teachers, Anray Amansure, our singing coach, Ilana Garlick, our pianist, Sonwabo Masepe, our dance teacher and Anastacia Isaacs, our acting coach. They were just amazing at inspiring these children on the stage.
The Academy's programme is about building confidence so each and every child relishes the opportunity to be on stage. The opportunities to experiment through improvisation are abundant and thereby this experience is highly creative for all.
